Blog Anniversary, Year Two!

Blog Anniversary Year Two | Creating Daily Joys

Hello friends! I’m beginning my third year of blogging today, celebrating the last two years of Creating Daily Joys through living simply and intentionally, with thrifty crafts and do-it-yourself projects, and sharing tips and resources with other caregivers to make their job a little easier.

I have missed blogging as often as I’d like to, but things are getting busier with my caregiving duties and this is my first priority right now. I also had the privilege and joy of visiting my children and grandchildren recently! I’m so thankful for them and so many other blessings in my life right now, including friends and family who help us out, and the wonderful relief caregivers helping me. I couldn’t do this without their help!

So, let me just share a little of what’s been happening in my blog the past year…

Even though my blog is still very small, and I’ve only been able to post about half as much as I did the first year, Google Analytics tells me:

  • My page views have doubled from 3000 to 7000 during the second year
  • The number of visitors has tripled from 2200 to 6100
  • With traffic from over 100 countries

Given that I don’t advertise or promote my blog, other than through email and Pinterest, I’m pretty happy with this.  Slow and steady growth is good for someone in my shoes who doesn’t have the time, energy or resources to promote a blog right now. For now, it continues to be a creative and therapeutic outlet for me, and hopefully for a few others! I have a few ideas for the future, but who knows what the future will bring?

Pinterest Interest

Since my time is even more limited now than when I began, the only social media I have used to promote the blog is Pinterest, and I love it. Pinners following my blog have tripled from 100 to 316 during the second year. The average monthly viewers of pins of my posts has grown from 10,000 to 30,000 the past year. My biggest following on Pinterest has become other caregivers and and young moms who like the sewing projects for toddlers.

My current top 6 pins are from these posts (includes posts from last two years):

The first three are the same as above, but the last three are different.

I’m currently trying to post once or twice a month, so you won’t be inundated by emails!
